Wow...once again I am playing catch up. I am not going to sit here and say I will blog more, because apparently that doesn't happen :)
So I will just play catch up!
Last time I blogged was June but the last time I wrote anything about the babe was April I think, so hear it goes.
She turned one in April. We had her birthday party which was so much fun! A lot of our family and some friends were able to make it to the party and I think E really enjoyed herself :)
A little hesitant at first....
But no problem once she discovered how good frosting is :)
We got her one year pictures taken by Honeybee and Peony (who did our wedding). They turned out so good and I still look at them all the time :)
My child is just too cool...
In April Don and I started thinking about selling our house. We kind of drug it out, thought about it and then decided "what the heck"? We found a realtor that we love, put our house on the market at the end of May and waited. We looked at a few houses right away but decided that until we sold ours it wouldn't be worth it to look at anything. So we waited...about 4 weeks and our we got an offer on our townhome. Holy crap. We countered once and they accepted. Then we went into high gear and started looking at houses. We looked at probably 20 houses and also pondered building something. After debating the points of new versus existing for a long time, it came down to an existing house "south of the river" and building a new house in the western burbs. We finally decided on.....
THE NEW BUILD!!! Seriously, I am so excited!! I can't freaking wait! We signed the purchase agreement this week and our townhome closes in mid-September....so there is a period of time where we are going to be homeless. The in-laws have graciously offered to house us for the three months in between the townhome closing and the new house being ready. The closing date for the new build is set at December 7th, so hopefully that holds true and we can be in there before Christmas. Seriously, I am so freaking excited, I just can't stand it!!
Here is a pic of the outside! Love it already! :)
In July Don and I went with some friends to the Brothers of the Sun concert at Target Field. The concert was awesome, even if it was too late on a Sunday night for this girl!
Love this guy :)
Also in July, I turned 30. Don took me on a trip so I didn't sit around wallowing in my old age (jk, I really am enjoying 30 so far:)). We went to NYC! It was so much fun, and we did a lot in 5 days.
This is from the top of the Empire State Building.
On my actual birthday we went out to a nice dinner and then to see The Lion King, it was such a good production! We also so Harvey, which was awesome, Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory was in it, and he was soooo good. Definitely would recommend that one to anyone who is interested in a not-so-big-name play.
We went to the 9/11 Memorial. It was crazy to be standing in the place where those huge buildings once stood and so many lost their lives. Pretty surreal. This is a picture of the new Freedom Tower.
We went out a couple different times and I figured that even though I am 30, I can still look hot ;)
I dont have pictures up here of everything we did...but we went on the Staten Island Ferry, saw the Statue of Liberty, went to a Yankees game -which even though I am a Twins fan was a lot of fun, and their stadium is pretty darn cool. We walked a ton and saw a lot of stuff, I can't even remember at the moment.
While we were gone, E stayed w/ Don's parents. She had a lot of fun and I think she thoroughly exhasuted my MIL! :)
So far this month has been spent packing, taking things to the storage unit, and training for my 1/2 marathon.
Oh? Did I forget to mention that little detail? Yeah. I am nuts, I am dreading every step, but dammit, I am going to finish this sucker! It is actually on Saturday, so I can't wait for it to be over. When I am done with that, I am going to start Insanity! I am sick of running so I need a break, and I want to tone up. Even though I can run 10 miles, I feel like I am flabby flabberson!
Oh! And I almost forgot another super exciting detail.....
I GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so flippin' excited about that too. I interviewed in April for a finance position at my current company and it was between me and one other girl. They chose her. Wah, wah....Well last Monday I found out that a girl in the department had put her two weeks in and they wanted me to replace her! AWESOME!! So I accepted and signed the offer this past Tuesday and didn't even have to re-interview for the job! I love it! So I should be starting over in finance in a week or so at least 1/2 time b/c my current boss needs time to find a replacement for me. Hopefully I like the new job and I can remember my finance skills from school b/c it has been a while! I think I am going to spend the next week studing my finance books!
So in conclusion....my life is pretty flippin' good right now :)
Thanks to anyone who still reads this! I will *try* to be better about updating.... ;)
