16 weeks

I cannot believe it is already 16 weeks. Its going really fast, even though other things in life feel like they are crawling by...namely, school.

Total weight gain:
I don't know...I have a doc appt on Friday and I will find out.

Maternity clothes:
Still just jeans.

Sleep:
Good but I get up to pee 2-3 times a night
.
Movement:
None yet but I am excited for that!

Food cravings:
Pickles and apples still. Not together though, that's gross! :)

Food aversions:
Nothing really that I can pinpoint exactly. Sometimes something just looks gross to me, so I don't eat it.

Gender:
Still think girl, but would love a little boy too.

What I'm looking forward to:
My doctors appointment on Friday. I like hearing the heartbeat!
.
What I miss:
Wine...sweet, sweet wine.

Milestones:
When I lay down you can actually tell I'm pregnant, and Don said he could tell too. But I still just look "thicker" when I am upright. Oh well!

15 weeks

15 WEEKS

Total weight gain:
Blah, I stopped caring. As long as I am not eating a chocolate bar every five minutes and I am working out 3-4 times a week,  I figure that is good enough!

Maternity clothes:
Still just jeans.

Sleep:
Good but I get up to pee 2-3 times a night
.
Movement:
None yet but I am excited for that!

Food cravings:
Pickles and apples. We went to the apple orchard on Saturday and I think I ate 4 apples just in the taste testing area...and then 2 more while we were picking them. :)

Food aversions:
Still not loving the idea of vegetables, but I can eat them if someone else prepares them
Gender:
Still stuck on the idea of a girl

What I'm looking forward to:
Being done with school, actually looking pregnant, and our ultrasound at 20 weeks.
.
What I miss:
Not being tired all the time, and wine....oh how I would love a glass of Riesling.

Milestones:
We bought our first piece of furniture for the babes room. We got a glider :)

Daycare...

On Friday we are meeting with four different daycares to try and find one that fits us. So far we are only looking at three smaller centers, and then one bigger one (New Horizon). I am already leaning more towards a smaller one, but we will see what we like. I just think a smaller one will be nice because our kid would get more attention.

I know several people that swear by in-home daycare but I have a couple different issues with that, and yes these are total assumptions so do not jump down my throat for saying this. My first issue is that most of the bad stories you hear about children dying or getting hurt happen at in-home daycare's. Second, if your child care provider is sick, you have to also take sick time. And three, if your day care provider goes on vacation, you have to go on vacation. I don't want to have to plan my vacations around someone elses schedule, thank you very much!

I also have some issues with centers so don't get your undies in a bunch. I would love the personalized service that you could get at an in home, but I also think a small center would do a sufficient job.

So...the point of this is I was wondering if you all had some good questions that I could ask. I have a list but I was wondering if anyone had any key questions that either could make it or break it for us.

Also...I have another questions. One of the places is the place our neighbors take their duaghter to, and they like it a lot, but I called them twice and never got a return call and then finally I called this morning and talked to someone and set up a meeting. Would you guys be turned off by the fact that no one ever called me back? And would you ask them about that? Because I am certainly tempted to ask something like, how long on average does it take you to get back to a parent if they call with a concern? If they wouldn't have answered this morning I was going to give up....
Please let me know any good questions you have!

Thanks so much!

Ten on Tuesday

Wow..something other than baby posts. I didn't think I had it in me :)

TEN ON TUESDAY

1. What does your work out schedule look like?
Well it depends on if you look at it right now or when I am not in school. We will go with what I am doing now...Obviously it can change, but this is the norm. If it is a beautiful day outside I try and take advantage by going for a jog outside instead of going to the gym.
Monday: Gym. Treadmill/Elliptical for 30 minutes.  Weights (arms or legs depending on what I did last) 20 minutes.
Tuesday:Gym (or if its nice out) Walk/Run 3 miles. This is only if I don't have to meet my group for school.
Wednesday: Nothing. I go to my moms, brush my horses and then play with my nephew.
Thursday: Nothing. Class.
Friday: If I have the day off, gym. Treadmill/Elliptical 3 miles or 30 minutes whichever I feel like doing. Some weights.
Saturday: Gym. Treadmill/Elliptical 3 miles or 30 minutes.
Sunday: Gym. Treadmill/Elliptical 3 miles or 30 minutes. Some weights.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

2. What is your favorite machine to use at the gym?
I for some odd reason, love the treadmill. I get bored on the bike or the elliptical
.
3. What is your favorite class to take at the gym?
There is a body works class at LA Fitness that I love. Its a cardio/weight combo class that can really kick your ass.

4. Where do you shop for work out gear and clothing?
Target or Marshalls. And I usually just wear t-shirts that I have gotten from different things like volunteering or softball.

5. If you can't go to the gym, do you have a favorite outdoor activity?
Running. Right now more of a run/walk...If its nice out (which it is right now!) I love being outside.

6. What about a favorite work out DVD? If so, please share!
Probably the 30 Day Shred.....as much as I want to punch Jillian, it is a great workout.

7. Are you more active now or when you were in high school?
This one is hard b/c I was active in high school playing sports and stuff but I am in way better shape now. And I weigh less. I love being able to say that, not a lot of people can.

8. How has your dieting/working out philosophy changed since high school?
I actually want to try. I know that if I want to be a MILF (I'd love to say I am kidding, but who doesn't want to be considered a MILF?...;)) I need to work my ass off at the gym and really watch what I eat. I want to be healthy for my kids and my husband and not have to worry about the problems that can come from being overweight.

9. What do you do while working out– (i.e., day dream, read, listen to music, gab with a friend)?
Usually I listen to my iPod and try and read the closed captioning on the TV's. Lately whenever I am at the gym Keeping up w/ the Kardashians is on and it keeps me pretty entertained with mindlessness.

10. What working out resolution would you like to make for yourself this year?
Work out as long as possible through my pregnancy and get back on the horse (literally and figuratively) as soon as possible after the baby is here. I also am going back to Weight Watchers ASAP after baby is born...I want to get to my goal weight by January 2012. I don't think that is too crazy considering I was only 30 lbs from it before I got pregnant.

OK so it wasn't really baby related but some of the questions turned that way. Sorry. I would love to sit here and say that is not all I will talk about here, but that ain't in the cards ;)

14 Weeks. Officially in the 2nd Trimester!

14 WEEKS

Total weight gain:
I'm trying not to obsess about this anymore. I'll let ya know how that goes....

Maternity clothes:
I bought another pair of jeans from Kohl's. They are comfy and they make me feel a little less frumpy b/c they fit properly in my butt and legs. I think I will get away with my regular shirts for a while b/c I have a lot of shirts that have the banded bottom and they are roomy in the stomach area.

Sleep:
Same...good but I get up to pee 2-3 times a night
.
Movement:
None yet but I am excited for that!

Food cravings:
Pickles. Could I be anymore of a stereotype?? I've always loved pickles, but I have gone thru two containers in about 3 weeks. I could eat them alllll the time!!!

Gender:
I'm still thinking girl, but I really enjoy my nephew so a boy would be super fun too!

What I'm looking forward to:
I have to stick with being done with school mostly...but also feeling the babe and looking pregnant instead of like I ate too many Oreos.
.
What I miss:
Not being tired all the time.

Milestones:
Officially, according to all the books, I am in the second trimester! :)

Random Hodge-Podge

So my mind is not functioning properly lately...too much going on with school and being exhausted the majority of the time (thanks baby :)). Oh well, there is an end in sight to school and after that I can relax and get ready for the babe.
Here is all the random things I've got rattling around in my brain (pretend to be entertained... ;)):

1. Last week, I told my group in my marketing class I was pregnant and immediately I felt stupid b/c about 3 seconds after I did one of the women said she had to go give herself a shot...I kind of figured that it meant she was going through some sort of treatment for infertility..and she got REALLY quiet the rest of the night. I know its stupid to assume, I just had a feeling. Well...turns out I was right. Last night in class she was telling me that she had an IUI last Friday and she will find out next week if it worked or not. I felt SO bad that I just blurted it out. I know plenty of people who have had issues getting and/or staying pregnant and I really try and be careful about how I tell people. I don't want to be insensitive. I hope she doesn't think I am an idiot.

2. Why is baby furniture so freaking expensive? And not only that but how can a dresser be more money than the crib? I don't get it. We did find some we really like though, so that is good! Hopefully a big sale will come up and we can go get it then. (We found it at USA Baby)

3. I don't really feel the need to do the whole coming out on Facebook about the baby. I dont want to offend anyone who has done this...but I am not one to be the center of attention and it makes me feel kind of self centered to do it. One of my friends says I should REALLY do it though...I don't need 385 mostly random people to know (yes, I looked up how many friends I have)...If you already know then you are important enough for us to have called, emailed, or told in person.

4. Someone needs to come out with clothes that fit in this awkward stage of pregnancy.

5. I think some people on Facebook only know how to complain. It is so annoying. Example: A girl from high school, who I am 3 seconds from de-friending b/c all she does is complain about her job and her life. Now she started school this week and is already complaining about homework and working full-time (at Taco Bell...can't be that stressful). Buck up! Ive been doing it for almost 2 years, you will survive.

6. I'm excited for this weekend. We have no plans tonight and the only plans we have tomorrow night are to babysit my nephew while his parents go out to celebrate their anniversary. I love that little guy :)

7. And last...why now, that I am knocked up, do I desperately want a plain margarita?!? I've never liked plain margaritas, but they sound so amazing right now! Oh, and I looked at a beer last week and thought that looked good too. And if you know me at all, you would know that I hate beer usually.

8. I had to add this one after I posted...But I desperately want to see Secretariat too! :)

Ok. Sorry this is random and weird...but it's the best I could come up with :)
Have a great weekend :)

Thanks :)

I just wanted to thank everyone for the nice comments on my last couple of posts! :) We are super excited for this baby!

13 Weeks

I figure I might as well do this survey, and since I am struggling to blog on a regular basis hopefully this will make me blog more. Sorry if you think this is boring :)
13 WEEKS
Total weight gain:
At my doctors appt on Friday...3 lbs. Boo.

Maternity clothes:
I may have bought some jeans at Clothes Mentor. The thing is, I don't need them. I was wearing some jeans that were too big for me and my ass always looked saggy and it was annoying me. So I bought some maternity jeans that actually fit me in my butt and legs. I may wear them, but I can still fit into my other jeans too.

Sleep:
Most the time, pretty good except the 2-3 times I get up to pee.
Movement:
None that I can feel but at my doctor's appt she said the babe was kicking b/c we could hear the heartbeat but then it would get all muffled.

Food cravings:
Nothing really....I still don't like veggies all that much but I can eat salads again.

Gender:
I go back and forth...but I think girl most of the time. We only have 27 weeks or so until we find out ;)
What I'm looking forward to:
Being done with school in December. This may not seem baby related but it is b/c I feel like I can't concentrate on anything for the babe b/c I should be doing homework.

What I miss:
WeightWatchers. For real. I feel like a big fat blob most of the time. I'm trying to eat healthy but I feel like I am doing a crap job.

Milestones:
Hearing the heartbeat on the doppler at the doctor's office. :)
