Ten on Tuesday

I'm a day late...But I decided to put something on here other than baby stuff :)

Found on Ashley's Antics...

1. Any vacations you are looking forward to this summer?

Does my maternity leave count? If I have this baby on or after my due date I will have off until after the 4th of July. Here's hoping Buzz is head down and I don't need a c-section! :)

2. What is your favorite article of summer clothing (shoes are included)?

Flip flops. I would wear them all year if I could.

3. What is your favorite summer drink (alcoholic or non)?

An ice cold diet coke on a hot day is the best. Or an ice cold glass of sangria....yummmm!

4. Do you tan or burn?

I burn but it turns to tan quickly. I got a sunburn in San Diego this past weekend, but it is already tan. Unfortunately it was only on my arms...

5. Any goals you are working toward this summer?

Have a baby. Get my body back (or at least a good start on it). And show my horse.

6. What is your favorite summertime food?

Strawberries, root beer floats, hot dogs on the grill, corn on the cob....

7. What song most says “summer” to you?

Tim McGraw's "Something like that" or Craig Morgan's "International Harvester" (strange, I know..but its a great song to crank up when your windows are down and you are driving through the country!)

8. Any home improvement goals planned for this summer?

Baby proof the house :)

9. What is one thing you hate to see at the beach?

Well one thing we saw on the beach in San Diego was a woman with a completely see through shirt...so I will go with that.

10. Did you ever go to a summer camp?

Nope. I showed horses during the summer! :)

Ten on Tuesday

Wow..something other than baby posts. I didn't think I had it in me :)

TEN ON TUESDAY

1. What does your work out schedule look like?
Well it depends on if you look at it right now or when I am not in school. We will go with what I am doing now...Obviously it can change, but this is the norm. If it is a beautiful day outside I try and take advantage by going for a jog outside instead of going to the gym.
Monday: Gym. Treadmill/Elliptical for 30 minutes.  Weights (arms or legs depending on what I did last) 20 minutes.
Tuesday:Gym (or if its nice out) Walk/Run 3 miles. This is only if I don't have to meet my group for school.
Wednesday: Nothing. I go to my moms, brush my horses and then play with my nephew.
Thursday: Nothing. Class.
Friday: If I have the day off, gym. Treadmill/Elliptical 3 miles or 30 minutes whichever I feel like doing. Some weights.
Saturday: Gym. Treadmill/Elliptical 3 miles or 30 minutes.
Sunday: Gym. Treadmill/Elliptical 3 miles or 30 minutes. Some weights.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

2. What is your favorite machine to use at the gym?
I for some odd reason, love the treadmill. I get bored on the bike or the elliptical
.
3. What is your favorite class to take at the gym?
There is a body works class at LA Fitness that I love. Its a cardio/weight combo class that can really kick your ass.

4. Where do you shop for work out gear and clothing?
Target or Marshalls. And I usually just wear t-shirts that I have gotten from different things like volunteering or softball.

5. If you can't go to the gym, do you have a favorite outdoor activity?
Running. Right now more of a run/walk...If its nice out (which it is right now!) I love being outside.

6. What about a favorite work out DVD? If so, please share!
Probably the 30 Day Shred.....as much as I want to punch Jillian, it is a great workout.

7. Are you more active now or when you were in high school?
This one is hard b/c I was active in high school playing sports and stuff but I am in way better shape now. And I weigh less. I love being able to say that, not a lot of people can.

8. How has your dieting/working out philosophy changed since high school?
I actually want to try. I know that if I want to be a MILF (I'd love to say I am kidding, but who doesn't want to be considered a MILF?...;)) I need to work my ass off at the gym and really watch what I eat. I want to be healthy for my kids and my husband and not have to worry about the problems that can come from being overweight.

9. What do you do while working out– (i.e., day dream, read, listen to music, gab with a friend)?
Usually I listen to my iPod and try and read the closed captioning on the TV's. Lately whenever I am at the gym Keeping up w/ the Kardashians is on and it keeps me pretty entertained with mindlessness.

10. What working out resolution would you like to make for yourself this year?
Work out as long as possible through my pregnancy and get back on the horse (literally and figuratively) as soon as possible after the baby is here. I also am going back to Weight Watchers ASAP after baby is born...I want to get to my goal weight by January 2012. I don't think that is too crazy considering I was only 30 lbs from it before I got pregnant.

OK so it wasn't really baby related but some of the questions turned that way. Sorry. I would love to sit here and say that is not all I will talk about here, but that ain't in the cards ;)

Always a day behind...

I'm always a day behind, and I am in a funk so I don't feel like blogging...I hope you all are having a great week!

1. What is your favorite piece of furniture in your house?
I love my bed, and I also love our over sized chair with the ottoman. It is so comfy. I like to sit there, read a book, and listen to the radio...Great day!
2. If it was raining so hard on a Saturday that you couldn’t leave your house, what would you spend the day doing?
I would sleep late, watch TV, cook something yummy and cuddle with my husband. :)
3. What was your favorite candy as a child?
Oh, man, I love candy. Some that I can remember that I would indulge in are m&m's, red vines, snickers, and butterfingers.
4. Did you get an allowance? What was it based on? What did you do with it?
Not really...my mom would give us money if she had it and we really wanted something but once I turned 16 it was get a job or don't go anywhere!
5. Do you have a favorite Etsy store?
I have only been on Etsy a couple times but it overwhelms me so I don't have a favorite.
6. Do you prefer time with family or time with friends?
I prefer time with my friends, mainly b/c I see my family (and the in-laws) more than my friends...and my mom is crazy and I can only handle so much time with her.
7. Looney Tunes, Tiny Toons, or Animaniacs?
Tiny Toons was super cute...
8. Best daytime talk show: Oprah, Ellen, The Doctors, Tyra (ha!), Dr. Oz, or Dr. Phil? Ellen...definitely, Ellen!
9. Would you rather have the power of invisibility or the ability to fly?Flying. I wouldn't have to buy gas for the car anymore! And there wouldn't be traffic!
10. Name 1 thing you love about being an adult? Doing what I want, when I want...and being married!

Two posts in one day!

Look at me go! Two posts in one day is pretty good for me ;)

So I went to my Weight Watchers meeting today and I lost 1.8 lbs! I was stoked b/c of the holiday and how much candy I ate :) But I am .5 lbs away from having a "1" in front of my weight. Whoo hoo :)

Ten on Tuesdays!

1.  If you could travel back in time, would you?  What decade would you visit?I would probably go back to the 1950's. Things sound so much simpler back then. And I am kind of liking the idea of being a stay at home wife right about now!
2. What was your best Halloween costume?  (fun to make? most creative?)Well I don't remember the exact costume I had on...probably a clown or a ghost, but one year my mom decided it would be fun to dress up our pony, hook her to our cart that we had and go trick-or-treating in that. It was a blast! I don't think Patty (the pony) appreciated being dressed up, but it was a blast.
3. Do you like your name?  If you weren't called by your name, what would you want to be called? Its ok. I went to school with two or three other Julie's so it was kind of a pain to always wonder if people were talking to me or another person. But for the most part I like it.
4. In the past year, what is the BEST recipe you made.  Please share it!I found a really good lasagna recipe that I like. Or the chocolate chip cookies that I make. Those are the bomb. I don't have the recipe at work but I will try and remember to post it.
5. Look around – what is the nearest object or picture hanging on the wall?
In my cube I have tons of papers hanging on the wall...but the first thing I see is my calendar with tropical islands on it...Makes me want to go to one. This months is the Grenadines.
6. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?  Would you recommend it?
We went and saw Avatar in 3D. It was awesome. Totally go see it. And if you can still find it in the 3D theater go see it in 3D. Totally worth it.
7. Did you go to summer camp?  Will you/do you send your kids to camp?
Nope I did not go to summer camp. My summer camp was horse shows. I don't know if I will send my kids. If they want to go I sure will!
8. What kind of ringtone do you have?
One of the ones that is preset on my phone. I really want Hey Soul Sister though...I'm lovin' that song right now!!
9. Where is the farthest away from home you have ever been?
Jamaica. Can I please go back?
10. Has anyone ever written a song or a poem for or about you? No. My husband writes me cute notes though and that is good enough for me :)

Ten on Tuesday...or Wednesday

1. Of your current hobbies, which would you choose to spend more time, money, and effort on? Why?
My horse. I love showing him but it is so expensive. If I had all the time and money in the world I would travel all over the US and show.

2. List the two other hobbies/habitual activities (not chores) besides the one listed above that you regularly do now and didn’t choose in question one.
Working out and reading.

3. Why are you spending time on the above two hobbies/habitual activities at all if you really wanted to spend your time on the first one you chose? …or to put it another way, what are these two hobbies/habitual activities fulfilling that the first one doesn’t if you don’t want to put all your effort into the first hobby?
Well...I cant be with my horse 24/7. He lives an hour from me so I really only see him 2-3 times a week. So those other nights after work I need to do something, so I workout and read when I can. Oh, and I work out so I don't look like a fat-ass on my horse...He wouldn't like to carry me around if i weighed 30489230948 pounds :)

4. Read John 3:16 in the bible… In what way does this passage affect you? What are your feelings towards these words, positively or negatively?

I'm at work and don't have a Bible...

5. M&M’s: nuts, no nuts, or peanut butter?

Is all of them an option? If I had to put them in order 1) Peanut Butter 2) Peanut 3) Plain

6. Putting away the feeling of pride being a bad thing; what secretly/openly are you proud about yourself?
Im proud of a lot of things in my life. Im proud of myself for going back to school to get my 4 year degree. No one thought I would go back b/c so many people say they will and never do. I am proud of myself for supporting myself since I was 16, my mom didnt always have the money to get me what I wanted/needed so the minute I started working I pretty much paid for everything. I am proud of myself for finding a good man and not settling. I am proud of myself for getting a good job and not having to worry about money, and not living paycheck to paycheck. I am proud of myself for putting myself first sometimes and taking care of myself and trying to lose weight before I get pregnant so I don't put myself and my child at risk. And I am proud of my husband and I for having money in savings, investments, and not being in debt for our wedding or credit cards.

7. Given one room in the house to do with what you want, not changing the actual size of the room and with all the money you would need, what would you do, and be specific? (this can range from bouncy floor, walls & ceilings; to hard wood floor with wood paneling and purple ceiling with a chair; to nothing)
A totally new kitchen. I'd love to do new cabinets, flooring, appliances, fixtures, counter tops, everything. I love kitchens. I sometimes go on www.themlsonline.com and look at houses and if they don't have a picture of the kitchen, or if the kitchen is crap I won't even look at it :)

8. What’s the next movie you’re going to see? Not what you’d LIKE to GO see, but the next movie you realistically are going to watch.
I don't know. I'm kind of over movies, there is nothing out there I really want to see. I will probably rent Valentines Day when it comes out to the Redbox.

9. Use the keyboard only and make your best smiley/funny/cool face –> like this! 8^)
;-p

10. What makes you cry? What makes you pray? What makes you laugh?
This week everything makes me cry. (I'm PMS-y :)). But I cry during TV shows, movies, commercials, not losing weight ;). I'm a big crier, and its usually over really stupid things!

I don't pray much..usually at family dinners.

As much as I cry, I also laugh just as much, if not more. Things that make me laugh: my husband, my animals, my family, blogs, my friends, TV shows, movies, etc. :)

McFatty Monday and Ten on Tuesday

I'm combining these b/c I would like to graze over the fact that I gained 1.2lbs. I am mad. I didn't eat great but I worked out hard and that should make up for the fact that I didn't eat great. I was expecting a no loss or gain week but apparently someone had other plans for me.

Oh well. I will just start over and try and be REALLY good with my tracking. Whatevs.

So here are my Ten on Tuesday to distract myself from my failure (dramatic much? :))

1. If you were given an hour to use a $200 Amazon gift card, what would you buy?
A new purse. I am obsessed with cute purses/handbags.

2. Are there any fairly common foods that you’ve never had?
Most seafood. The smell makes me throw up in my mouth a little. I have tried a couple different kinds of fish and crab legs and those were enough for me to know that I do not eat things that come from the water.

3. What was your favorite way to use your imagination as a kid?
My sister and I use to play with dolls/Barbies alot. So probably just making up stories about them.

4. What’s your favorite state? Why?
In the summer...Minnesota. I love the weather, the activities, and everything about it. The winter sucks, but if you are from MN you just learn to live with it and appreciate the nice weather that much more.

5. If it was our culture to have our parents choose our spouses, do you think yours would make a good choice?
No. My mom is a self proclaimed "bad-picker". She has had numerous bad men in her life, luckily none right now. And my dad would probably pick someone like himself and that would make me want to jump off of a bridge (I love my dad but he can be an ass).

6. What’s your favorite herb?
Probably oregano, just b/c I like Italian food a lot!

7. If you could have dinner with one celebrity, who would you choose?
This one is hard...I would probably say Keith Urban (hes hot and has a sexy accent :))

8. What’s your favorite Disney movie?
The Little Mermaid

9. If you had to listen to the same song over and over for 24 hours, what song would you choose?
Highway 20 Ride by Zac Brown Band

10. How do you order your steak?
Medium well

McFatty Monday and Ten on Tuesday

I had my 7th consecutive weight loss in a row this week! I was so excited when I got on the scale :) I got my 10% weight loss thing at Weight Watchers today too, and I was so excited. Only 2.8 more lbs to my next goal, which is to have a 1 as the first number in my weight. I feel so great about that. I don't mean to toot my own horn every week but this is the first time I have ever been successful at losing weight, and it feels awesome. Since December of 2008 I have lost 30lbs, its not a lot in over a year, but you know what, slow and steady wins the race. At least when it comes to weight loss.

I can't wait to start riding more horse again now b/c I know how much better I will feel riding since I am almost 25 lbs lighter than when I was last on him in the fall. And I like the idea of people who I haven't seen in 6+ months seeing me now...I mean isn't that the greatest feeling in the world, when people notice that you have been working your tail off and losing weight?! My next goal (after getting a one in the beginning of my weight) is to lose 40 lbs (total, not in addition to what I have lost) by June. I don't think that is anything unattainable. My main reason is b/c my husband and I would like to start trying for a kid then, but I have an ulterior motive too.....My 10 year high school reunion. I want to look good! I am in better shape now than I ever was in high school and I cant wait for them to see me (yes, I know that sounds selfish and conceited, but I don't care! :)).

So anywho, I hope everyone has a great week!

I got this idea from this lady and I have been meaning to do it for a while...and since all I ever write about anymore is getting my large arse smaller I thought I would throw something more interesting in the mix!

Ten on Tuesday

1. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Store bought it would have to be Mint Oreo...but my husband got some Cold Stone the other day when we were at the mall and it was called Our Strawberry Blonde...ugh it was SO good!!!

2. What is your earliest memory?
I cant remember exactly what it was...but I know it has to do with my first pony, whose name was Patty. It was probably just riding her...

3. What is your earliest memory of a dessert?
Umm...I don't normally dream about food...

4. Do you have any recurring dreams?
Yeah...for the longest time I would dream I was falling off the back of the bleachers at the football stadium at my old high school. I used to have those dreams at least once a week...but I haven't had it in a long time thankfully. It was one of those where you wake yourself up b/c you feel like you are falling out of bed.

5. Have you ever dreamed about dessert?
See #3

6. What is one thing (aside from a cell phone or computer) that you cannot go the entire day without?
Water. I drink about a gallon a day. I love, love, love water

7. What is one dessert you could go your entire life without ever having again?
Anything lemon flavored....gross!

8. If you could go on vacation tomorrow, where would you go? (Assume someone else is footing the bill, but within reason…so "the moon" won't work)
St. Lucia. For about a month or longer...

9. If you could have any dessert tomorrow, what would you have (assume someone else is buying it for you. Within reason though, no "gold sprinkled ice cream cones.")
First of all...what is up with all the dessert questions? Second, this would also have to not go straight to my ass...But I am easy: A Dairy Queen ice cream cake...but I want it made the opposite way, so I want it all chocolate and fudge except for a little vanilla in the middle.

10. What was your first impression of your significant other? If you're single, what was your first impression of your best friend?
Well since we met on a blind date but had talked on the phone a bunch before we met I think my first impression was his voice. He has a really deep sexy voice. I love it. :)

11. What is your first impression of dessert pizza? (Personally, I think it's weird. I love dessert but I don't want any on my pizza.)
If it came from DQ I love it....But I haven't had anything else that resembles pizza and dessert.
