21 Weeks

Maternity clothes:
Yes, although I still use some of my regular shirts, mostly for work.

Sleep:
Ugh...it was good most of the week until last night.
.
Movement:
Yup! I love it. This kid is a mover.

Food cravings:
Sugar, sugar and more sugar :) But I am trying to be good...

Food aversions:
Nothing.

Gender:
Who knows!

What I'm looking forward to:
Our NEXT ultrasound, December 21st.
.
What I miss:
Sleeping on my back.

Milestones:
We got the anatomy scan done last Tuesday. It was so much fun to see the child again. He/she was moving so much and the babe was in a precarious position so we get another anatomy scan on December 21st. We didn't get very many good pictures, and the tech couldn't see some of the vital organs they look for so we get to see the child again! I am super excited. (btw: she said that she thinks she saw the kidneys, but that she couldn't be sure and that is why we get another u/s...not b/c there was something wrong.)

Maybe one of these days I will post some belly pics but I honestly still feel like I am in the "in between" stage where I have no waistline and people think I just ate too much :)

Halfway! 20 Weeks

Its crazy to me that we have made it to 20 weeks so quickly. I realize I have another 20 to go, but seriously? It has gone so fast! I will probably be biting my tongue in a few more weeks wondering when this will all end :)
Maternity clothes:
Yes. I can still use a lot of my regular work shirts though. I did stop into Old Navy at the MOA and they had a small, but nice selection of maternity clothes. I got 4 shirts.

Sleep:
Now that Don leaves when he wakes up at 4am and doesn't toss and turn I am sleeping pretty good!
.
Movement:
Oh yeah, I am loving it too :) The little kicks and jabs are fun!

Food cravings:
Not much. I do love some of those frozen fruit bars though, strawberry only!

Food aversions:
Not much anymore! I wish it was chocolate though....

Gender:
I don't know anymore. I don't want to start thinking that it is for sure a girl, and then if it comes out a boy I am disappointed. I am going to be happy w/ whichever.

What I'm looking forward to:
Our ultrasound tomorrow!! I can't wait to see pictures :)
.
What I miss:
Sleeping on my back.

Milestones:
Umm...being half way! I still don't feel like I look that pregnant but I will probably appreciate that in a another few weeks.
Also, we got more of our furniture. The glider and ottoman came in on Saturday. It looks awesome!
Oh, and I was able to run again on the treadmill. For the last couple of weeks if I tried I felt like my bladder was being stomped on, but I tried on Saturday and I could do it w/o feeling like I had to run to the bathroom. Granted I couldn't run for very long, but whatever!

19 Weeks

For anyone not having a baby, or who doesn't care about babies is bored stiff by my blog these days. Sorry. It probably won't change anytime soon, so if you don't like it, I apologize, but you might want to just not read anymore!

Total weight gain:
I'm taking this off from here on out b/c I will not weigh myself at home, and I don't want to share even if I did! :)

Maternity clothes:
Jeans and a couple shirts....I hate most maternity shirts though. Why do they all look like they are made for woman who are 65? I don't want to look like I am wearing a sofa, thank you very much.

Sleep:
Ehh...I bought ear plugs this past weekend and they seem to help a bit but I am still waking up a lot. And since I am a back sleeper normally it has been hard to adjust. My hips get sore laying on one side or the other all night.
.
Movement:
I feel little jabs every now and then. Actually I am feeling them right now :)

Food cravings:
Still apples and applesauce...

Food aversions:
Leftovers.

Gender:
Well we could find out next Tuesday but we are not. :) The newest thing is my mom said she had a dream that I had a girl, and we named her Ava...

What I'm looking forward to:
I'm back to being done with school. Not baby related, but at this point, I don't care. December 13th cannot come soon enough!
.
What I miss:
Sleeping on my back and running on the treadmill. But I have adapted to the elliptical even if I find it tediously boring!

Milestones:
We bought the baby furniture this past weekend!! They had the crib in stock so we picked it up and assembled it with the help of Don's parents on Saturday. That's enough to shock you into the reality that you will have a kid! :) It looks awesome and I can't wait to get the dresser, nightstand, glider, and ottoman!
Here is a picture of the crib with a little blanket my mom's coworker knitted for us (there is also the cutest little hat on top of the blanket!!) Also...excuse the poor quality, it is from my phone.

18 Weeks. Whoa!

I cannot really believe that I am 18 weeks pregnant today. It seems like I should still only be 13-14 weeks pregnant. It's going really fast and I kind of feel like I haven't had a chance to enjoy it. But, luckily, I have time! :)

Total weight gain:
I don't know, I had Don hide the scale about a month ago.

Maternity clothes:
Jeans and a couple shirts....not too many shirts yet though.

Sleep:
I would like to sleep through the night on work nights but this rarely happens.
.
Movement:
I THINK I felt something last week...but I don't know for sure. It was very odd, but it has been few and far between so I am not 100% sure it was the baby.

Food cravings:
Still apples and applesauce...

Food aversions:
Nothing really...

Gender:
Who knows?! And I am so sick of people saying "Oh, I hope the Ultrasound tech doesn't slip up when you go in for your u/s and tell you what the sex is." I hope they don't too, geez...and if they do, I am sure as heck not telling you! :)

What I'm looking forward to:
Feeling this child move (for sure this time! :))
.
What I miss:
Wine, sleeping on my back, and running. Whenever I get on the treadmill and try to run even if I have just gone to the bathroom I immediately have to pee again. Apparently too much stuff bouncing on my bladder. So I have gone back to just doing the elliptical which bores me, or walking on the treadmill.

Milestones:
I don't know that it is an actual milestone, but for the first time today I actually feel pregnant in the outfit I have on and not just fat! :)

Boy or Girl?

No, we did not, and are not, finding out what the gender of this child is, but I did the old wives' tale test. Here it is for your viewing pleasure!

1.       Pay attention to which way you lay down in bed tonight. If you prefer sleeping on your left side, you'll have a boy. Right side? Your pregnant with a girl. I can’t sleep on my left side for too long. I much prefer my right. Girl.
2.       Little girls aren't always sweet. Extreme nausea means you are having a daughter. I do not consider what I had extreme…so boy.
3.       If your hands are dry during pregnancy, you are having a boy; soft -- expect a girl. My hands are dry like normal. So I guess boy.
4.       Your favorite pregnancy foods may tell you what sex the baby is. If you're craving citrus while pregnant, you're having a girl. I like anything fruit, so I would say girl.
5.       If altering hormones makes your skin break out, expect a girl. More zits than I have had in a long time…girl.
6.       If you feel as though you're gliding through they day, you'll have a girl. Stumbling? It's a boy.  No more clumsy than I normally am. Girl.
7.       If your face gets fuller, it means you're having a girl. Not yet. Undetermined.
8.       Craving salt during pregnancy? Potato chips, pretzels, and popcorn means a boy is on the way. Need a little something sweet? Ice cream, chocolate, and candy means you're having a girl. Candy and ice cream are way better than potato chips and pretzels! Girl!
9.       If you're experiencing pregnant mood-swings, expect a baby girl to arrive soon. Ha! Girl.
10.   If you're carrying the baby low on your stomach, expect a boy. If it's high, you're having a girl. Don’t know yet. Undetermined.
11.   If you're carrying baby in front, it's a boy. Is the baby weight spaced all around your middle? It's a girl. Don’t know yet. Undetermined.
12.   Dangle a chain with a charm over your palm. If it swings back and forth: boy. In a circle: girl. I didn’t have a charm so I used my headphones. Back and forth. Boy.
13.  "Show me your hands." If you would hold your hands palms up it's a girl. Down? You're having a boy. This one is hard b/c I could change it depending on what I want. But I think I usually hold them down. So boy.
14.   Get baby advice from a nephew or friend's little boy. If a toddler boy shows interest in your belly, you'll have a girl. If he ignores you, it's a boy. I’ll see what Ben does when I start showing. Undetermined.

15.   Guess the baby's sex by eating garlic. If the smell seeps out of your pores it's a boy. If there's no scent it's a little girl. Just had garlic mashed potatoes and nothing seeped out. Girl.

16.   If your age and year of conception are both even or odd, it's girl. One even, one odd means a boy. This one is sketchy. I turned 28 in July but we probably conceived this kid before my birthday….The year is 2010. Boy.

17.   If the baby's heart beats more than 150 times per minute, you're pregnant with a girl. Less than 150, it's a boy. It has been above 150 every time. Girl.

18.   A child tends to be of the same sex as the parent who is less stressed at the time of conception. I was out of school at the time. So I would say me. Girl.

19.   If you dream about having a girl while pregnant, you will wind up having a boy and vice versa. I have only had one dream, but the babe was a girl. So boy.

20.   If your right breast is larger than the left while pregnant, you are having a girl. If the left is larger, it's a baby boy. Um. They are probably more the same size now than they were before I was pregnant. So, undetermined.

Tally:
Girl: 9/20
Boy: 6/20
Undetermined: 5/10

There ya have it. Looks like girl wins for now. I will have to come back when I am showing and fill in the rest! :)

17 Weeks

Yup...this is all you are going to see on here for awhile. I'm too tried and too busy working on homework (at work) to do more. Hope you don't hate it! :)

Total weight gain:
Another 3 lbs. I think total it is like 7-9 now.

Maternity clothes:
Still just jeans, but I bought a couple shirts and a dress at Target on Friday.

Sleep:
Would be better if I slept alone.
.
Movement:
None yet but the nurse I saw on Friday said it should start soon.

Food cravings:
Apples and most fruits

Food aversions:
I tried to eat leftover chicken last night and it was so gross. I only ate two bites and through the rest away.

Gender:
I don't know but if this child is a boy it may not have a name. I am struggling and every time I ask Don his opinion I get..."eh, they're OK.." Thanks.
What I'm looking forward to:
Feeling this child move!
.
What I miss:
Wine...sweet, sweet wine. (Still...this might be a common occurrence!)

Milestones:
Hearing the heartbeat again. I love that :) It was in the 150's

Oh, and by the way I might start taking some belly pics....but until I think it is noticeable they will not be up for other people's viewing! :)
