Holy smokes...I really can't believe we are entering the home stretch of this pregnancy. I'm gonna be a mom...scary ;)
We had our birth and parenting preparation class this past weekend. I have to say, I knew a lot of what they went over. I guess reading blogs is more than just entertainment during my work days, its very educational! It was good to go over it some more though. While the class had some benefits, I was a little surprised that the one we took (at the hospital I will be delivering at) was not taught by nurses. They were both very educated on the topic, but neither of them were actual nurses. Just thought that was interesting.
I have always been the person who said, "I want drugs to deliver this child" and while I will still probably get them, after learning more about the options it would be nice to do this w/o the drugs for as long as possible. But I am definitely not going to try to be some sort of superhero and go without the good drugs! :) Who knows though, I might get to 2-3 cm and be begging for something! While I have a high tolerance for pain, I don't want to feel EVERYTHING :)
Maternity clothes:
Of course! I'm tempted to try on my regular jeans to see if my butt still fits in them, but I don't want to be pissed if they don't;)
Sleep:
This past week it was better.
Movement:
Still a ton. Except this past week the babe decided to make me worry and be really quiet one evening. Evenings are usually when s/he is the most active so it scared me a bit. But I had some orange juice the next morning and woke the little bugger up and s/he kicked me (what seemed like) all day long after that.
Food cravings:
Diet Coke. I gave in this morning. I've been really good about not drinking it...but seriously, I was desperate this morning!
Food aversions:
Not much...
Gender:
Still thinking girl.
What I'm looking forward to:
Going to our next class. Breastfeeding...exciting stuff, I know, but I'm looking forward to learning more about it. And we may have jumped the gun a bit on this one, but we bought a pump this weekend. It's a
Medela Hands Free pump and it was on clearance at Target, $100 off. We couldn't really pass that up. And I was NOT putting this on the registry. There are some things I don't want people buying for me :)
What I miss:
Sleeping on my back.
Milestones:
Entering the 3rd trimester, and as of tomorrow we have 90 days left. Crazy! And getting through our first class. One down, two to go (breastfeeding, and CPR).
